The Final

Looking back at this term, I can say I was able to use this blog as a platform for my creativity. The goal of this blog was to create a space open to anyone and everyone. I wanted my audience to take away feelings of safety and comfort and also to think outside the box. In my very first post, I wrote what art meant to me. Art to me is a commentary about our emotions, our surroundings, our relationships, and many more.  Though I don't think my definition has changed, I do believe the way I express it has. This class has forced me to play with concepts I would never think to try. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and I enjoyed putting out new content every week. All the topics we covered intersect, and it will be a creative exercise to continue using those principles.

This final post encompasses the Goldendoodle as most of the principles we used are in this photo. Point/Plane/Line, monotoned color, texture, scale, and balance, and pattern. I thought by incorporating as many topics as possible would perfectly sum up my journey on this blog. It is images like this where I see multiple elements in a design and find it fascinating.

Overall, I love how I was able to express myself this term. Normally I do not have many opportunities to share my art so I am very thankful to this class and blog. Sharing art is personal to me and often times it can be uncomfortable. However, I have learned to be more open and take the leap of faith.  I've learned to seek comfort in this blog and to make it a place of safety, like home. Though "home" means different things for different people, I hope I created that sense with my viewers.
